Firefighters from several districts were unable to save the residence of Jason Holder on Dola Road in the southern portion of White County as fire ripped through the structure on Monday evening.
According to Doyle Volunteer Fire Chief Jimmy Savage, units were dispatched to the scene, at approximately 5:30 p.m., and found the building completely engulfed. A series of small explosions reportedly kept firefighters from immediately battling the blaze.

“We appreciate the help and quick response of all the districts that helped last night,” said Savage.
In addition to Doyle firefighters, units responded from Hickory Valley Volunteer Fire Department, Central View Volunteer Fire Department, Mt. Gilead Volunteer Fire Department, and Sparta Fire Department. The Tennessee Forestry Division was also called in as a precaution to protect the fire from spreading in the wooded area to other structures located a few hundred yards from the fire.
No one was home during the incident, and no injuries were reported. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
